AWARDS AND HONORS
2004 Terhune Award, presented by New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, for 25 years service.
2000, 01, 02 Mellon Foundation Professional Development Grants. Used to fund advanced studies in viola
literature and pedagogy with Toby Appel, Professor of Viola, The Juilliard School.
2000 Grammy Award, New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, for a recording of Dvorak’s Requiem (with
the Westminster Chorale) and Symphony No. 9 “From the New World” on the Delos label.
1977 Graduate Assistantship, Performance, Eastman School of Music.
1976, 77, 78, 80, 81 Five full scholarships, Kneisel Hall Chamber Music School. Invited three times as
[summer] a student to perform with faculty on the Faculty Chamber Series. Also member of Staff, ’77-81.
1973, 74, 75, 76, 77 Four year scholarship, University of Iowa. Dean’s List, every semester. Graduated Cum Laude.
1973 Elected to the National Honor Society.
